The 'S' words...

A picture taken when he was sound asleep, but still keeping an eye on things…

Zane has learned some ‘S’ words lately: sick & scared.

Well, first I should recount something from Faith about his behavior at pre-school. At some point in the pre-school day there’s some kind of organized “sit around in a circle and stay.” Which I think is just before the parents arrive. Zane does well on this, but being Zane, if any of the other kids acts up he then turns around and imitates them and needs to be talked to. Faith came home to report that the other day someone acted up and Zane didn’t imitate them, and was a good boy.

With that in mind it’s not always easy to tell if Zane is imitating something he saw on Curious George, in a book, or that some other person did. Lately when we put him in bed, read a few books, and then turn the light off he’ll say “scared!” During nap time he says “feel sick” instead. Sometimes he really is scared, when there’s a big wind or a particularly noisy car or truck drives by and then it gets amplified in his head.
