The Boys of Spring
Auntie JJ was bitten by a dog today, the second bite since moving to Wisconsin. During US Census training, they told us to face down the dog without direct eye contact. That worked last week with 2 short dogs. Today when I saw 75 lbs or so of muscle behind teeth dripping with saliva… well, let’s just say he bit me in the back of leg.
Here’s to dog training.

That’s a bummer. Hope you are doing ok.

Sorry to hear it. I blame the owner. (i was going to say, “Poor dog!” but since YOU were bitten; well, if the dog continues this behavior and is put down, pooor dog!)
I do recommend putting leather wallets in back pockets when census-ing next time. Bulges out and gives the nasty dogs something to go for. Socks hanging out might work too and let you get away. i had a similar experience over 27yrs ago in Newburgh, but i wasn’t bitten. I remember running, though. I think the dog let me go easy!
