Public Transportation day

Subways, trollies, “wire busses”, boats, we covered most of the bases while the rental car stayed back at the hotel.

The SF Trolly system is a bit like participating in Keystone Cops capers. The equipment is old and fickle, requires lots of human management and finesse, breaks down from time to time, and the people running it are real characters. Mix all that with normal SF traffic, pedestrians who can’t seem to see a giant trolley (with slow brakes) barreling down on them and you have a ride that’s entertaining on many levels.

3 Trolley rides! We had quite a time trying to buy the day pass that let us hop trolleys and buses. I think we walked a mile or so to find the info center and buy the pass. The walk was slightly chilly (compared to New Hampshire) and very foggy.
