It’s been a busy week in Zane land. We went over to friend’s on Christmas Eve and day followed by Faith’s parents coming up for a visit. Zane has been weathering all of the preparation, shuffling about, changes in scenery, jostling, and new faces quite well. He also got to experience the strange tradition of ripping and eating wrapping paper. Most curious.
If you detect a yellow coloring around his mouth don’t worry that he’s becoming jaundiced, it’s just that his dad didn’t do a good job wiping off pureed carrot after his meal.
He’s eating two good sized meals of solids every day, with some rice mush, a veggie of sorts (orange mostly, he’s not too fond of green food yet), and lately a little bit of fruit. The fruit had been apple sauce until the other day when his bowels slowed down. He spent Christmas holiday grunting and pushing with nothing to show for it. I’m sure there’s a catchy song title in there, but I’ll resist the temptation.
So we picked up a baby bottle of prunes and in less than half a day, viola, problem solved.
He was close to 17 lbs, but that was before the prunes so he’s probably some fraction under. Hair continues to sneak a few new wisps in each week, he sits like a champ, standing is fun given proper support, teething continues without anything to show but wet shirts, and he bounces in his jumper as if we had moon gravity.
