Happy Chew

One has to wonder about the order in which baby teeth come in. Front teeth first seems a little optimistic, it’s not like they’ll be eating corn on the cob or rending flesh off an animal. It’s also pretty cruel to the poor moms trying to breast feed. Why not a few molars instead? Most anything Zane eats could stand a little more chewing, like his first lamb meal, which he devoured with gusto. Between the greasy lamb and mounds of sweet potato chunks you couldn’t get a happier baby. Broccoli would have been a nice touch, he loves those little green florets.

But, alas, only asparagus tips. sigh But, we had broccoli for breakfast! With French toast. And apple sauce. Yum!
I believe the front teeth come in first so that all the remaining teeth come in the proper place. If the molars came in first and it filled in towards the front teeth, well, there might not be room for them.

Nice, a logical reason: tooth traffic jam prevention.
