A Big Boy Now!

Zane playing with a cool little “animated” house from his Grandparents. It plays pop goes the weasel while, well, weasels pop up and down. That’s one of those songs that shows up on all kinds of toys and you start wishing you’d never hear it again. Other get-stuck-in-your-head melodies: Thomas the Tank Engine and Bob the Builder.
Last night Faith taught piano for the first time this fall and Zane kept hovering outside the door. He wasn’t quite sure what to make of the two new people in his Mom’s room, they were a little scary at first. So he’d walk down the hall and peak around the corner or get close to the door and then “run” away. He finally worked up his courage and walked into the room, squawking like a little bossy rooster. Lots of fun to watch.

And, as one can see, the big boy has finally grown out of his 12 month clothes. Notice the ankles are showing and the clothing V in the diaper area.
It’s tough to figure out baby clothes. Because Zane is only in about the 4th Percentile for weight and 75th for length, he can use his clothes a few months longer than the label says. On the flip side, he cannot necessarily use the next size up depending on the cut of the clothes.
So, in this picture, his 12 month jumper is now going to be passed along. As well as a bunch of 12 month onsies. But, his 12 month pants (only the pants and nothing but the pants) fit comfy in the waist and aren’t too long anymore. they fit just right. The 18 month pants are too big in the waist and too long. I think he’s all torso.
Pretty tough to figure out what clothes to keep, what to move out, and what is borderline.
I do like onsies, but i think they will soon be a thing of the past. sniff
